Techie was more scared right now than he’d been in months. Hux was very careful not to play favorites, especially where his brother was involved, so once in a while Technical Hux found himself part of an offship mission with a bunch of strangers going off to who knows where.

He’s beyond bad at socializing but good enough at doing what he’s told to, so nothing ever goes TOO badly. But something about this mission feels different.

Maybe it’s because the job involves much more from him than the usual “fix anything that breaks.” It’s a covert mission or something like that, he still hasn’t been told all the details.

And now he’s waved goodbye to Hux and his friends, picked up his bags, and boards the new ship on gelatin-shaking legs.
