Techie froze and felt ice run through his veins. Why is Kylo Ren, of all people, talking to him?! The blood is pulsing so hard in his ears that he doesn’t even know what the man is saying, and can only stare blankly at him.
“Um, ah,” he says, very intelligently.
And then bolts for the nearest exit.
Techie felt something slip into his thoughts. It was a strange sensation, and his initial response was to fight it, but once he realized it must have been Ren, he relaxed and opened himself up to it.
Far too long he’d been tightly closed down, holding onto his fears and terrors as if they’d save him. Maybe it was time to show someone. And who better to understand than a mind-reader?
Techie closed his eyes and showed Ren his scariest memories of MaMa: grinning wide with bloody teeth, her breath on his ear with the knife edge brushing his stomach, the feeling of her fingers pushing deep within him as he sobbed, helpless to stop it.
Suddenly it felt much too overwhelming to show ANYONE, so Techie cut off the flow of memories and shrank back against the wall, nearly bumping into the doctor, who had been watching with some interest.
“I’m s-sorry,” he said.
