Hux was shocked. Why was Bill being like this? Why was he afraid? Did he not recognize him?
He shuddered at the thought that his brother might have been treated so harshly as to influence his memories. He quickly got to his knees and wrapped his arms around him.
“Bill, it’s okay, it’s fine, you’re safe. It’s me. It’s Armitage. Do you remember?… I… I’ve come to get you. You’ll be fine now.”
Wide eyed, he stared up at Hux and took in his appearance; It had been an obscene amount of years, though he couldn’t be sure how many. Time blurred and blended together when you spent all your time locked up in a dim room with only whirring computer parts and blue monitors for company.
Techie reached out and hesitantly brought his fingers up to trace over the curves and lines of his brother’s face. “You l-look the s-same,” he whispered, dazed. It was only partly true. Armitage hadn’t held himself so confidently before, nor had he looked so… severe, and made up of hard lines. When they were kids, he’d been soft and slight. It was a jarring difference.
