This was… more than Techie had ever had in his life. Tears pooled in his eyes and he wiped hastily at them before they could fall and streak his cheeks, embarrassed to have his new-found brother see him be… such a mess, honestly. “It’s s-so nice,” Techie chokes out, and promptly feels guilty for even considering asking for anything else, given how hospitable Hux has been.
“It’s the best I could manage,” he said, looking around. “If you need anything here, just let me know, okay? You know where to find me. I will be coming here later to give you your assignments, your codes, all of that orientation stuff, ok?” He looked around. “Do you have any questions?”
“No… I don’t,” Techie says, in awe. His gaze darts from side to side, trying to take everything in his new home at all once. A stray strand of messy orange hair falls from his haphazard ponytail. Then, abruptly, he adds, “Um, H-Hux? Could you come here f-for a second?”
