I commissioned the amazing @multi-purpose-tool-guy to illustrate a scene from the Techienician fic Misfits by @hollyhark. This fic is one of my all time favs and I reread it whenever I feel a bit low. Thank you Holly for writing it!
Mismatched roommates Matt and Techie have to find a way to live together, but Techie’s night terrors are keeping them both up at night. Matt tries to teach Techie how to meditate to help him sleep. ❤
“I’ll put my back against yours, so you can feel how you’re supposed to be breathing. And so you’ll know I’m not looking at you. Turn around, do it.”
Techie responds to commands with scrambling urgency, so this actually works: he spins around and allows Matt to scoot back against him after he’s done the same. Matt can feel Techie’s panicked breath all along the length of his spine, and the warmth of him through his sweater.
“Pay attention to how I breathe,” Matt says. “And try to do the same.”
