Mitaka whimpers softly and looks up at the man. He didn’t look very frightening compared to his last master. He was afraid of most people after him though. Mitaka nods quickly and closes his eyes tightly, expecting to get hit.
The silence that follows is peaceful. Techie gazes out into the wide expanse of stars and feels his heart beat slow, grow steady. After a few minutes, his knot goes down and he manages to gently slip Dopheld off without waking him. While he’s tempted to doze off as well, Techie keeps his eyes trained on the skies, and the rest of their flight passes without incident.
Mitaka wakes up when the plane lands. He makes a quiet noise and nuzzles into his neck.
With soft shakes, Techie assures that Dopheld is awake and then retrieves their things before taking his hand.
“You can come w-with me, if you want. But you’ll stay close and p-pretend to be a buyer, alr-right?”
