Matt laid sprawled out on his bed. Someone could mistake him as being asleep the way his chest rose and fell so lightly almost unnoticeable. That was if they didn’t look closer at him which most people probably wouldn’t. However if they did they would see the open and empty bottle of pills laying in his open palm.

Techie knocked politely on his door for a good ten minutes. Weird… Matt was always in his quarters this late at night, and though Techie felt rude for bothering him, Matt was a night owl, too, and wasn’t ever sleeping right now. His anxiety flared up something awful; the tremors started up harder than ever. Techie couldn’t shake this heavy, horrible feeling that something was wrong.

Privacy be damned. Matt could be in trouble! Techie quickly imput Hux’s override code and when the door opened, his eyes landed on the unconscious form of his best friend on the bed. He was… asleep? No, not so. This was an odd, unnatural position. Techie drew closer until he saw what Matt held in his hand: an empty pill bottle.

“Holy shit!” Techie cried, and threw himself down next to Matt, taking his shoulder and shaking him. “Matt? Fuck, Matt!”

Matt’s body moves limp in techies hands as he shook him. Moving far easier than someone of Matt’s size should have moved when shook by someone as slim and skinny as his best friend.

The only response to this was a weak groan that came from Matt’s unconscious body. His eyes not moving to open. Techies pleas falling on deaf ears.

This wasn’t Techie’s first rodeo, so to speak; he knew what had to be done in case of an overdose. First, he sent out a distress signal to the emergency personnel in medbay, and rolled Matt over on his back with his head hanging off the bed. Techie slipped his fingers into Matt’s mouth deep enough to activate his gag reflex until he was emptying his stomach all over the floor and Techie’s lap.

He didn’t care about the smell or the mess. Matt’s life was on the line! Once he’d gotten as much of the pills out of his body as he could, Techie cradled Matt in his arms and whispered a frantic mix of pleas and comfort. When the medbay workers arrived, Techie went with them and waited outside for a long, long time to make sure that his best friend would be okay.
