These were heavy worries for one man to carry alone. Techie bites at his bottom lip, working it between his teeth as he considered what Hux had said. “We… we d-don’t know any of that for sure unless we meet her,” he says gently, as though he’s afraid of upsetting him further. “It’s never knowing and wondering or, um, finding out from h-her personally.”
“You’re right, of course,” he sighed. “And with father gone, there really is no reason to not find her, I suppose… So if that’s what you want, that is what I’ll do. It… *It really could be nice, if we were all together again.”
Techie’s face can’t contain the huge smile that breaks out. “This is great! I can start digging up p-possible matches ASAP. You told me once th-that she’s from, um, Arkanis? That’s where we grew up?”
He blows bubbles into the root beer with his straw, cheeks still dimpling from his grin.
