Hux began to pull on clothing, eyeing his comm as he waited for a twin message. A gentle hand tugged his pants away from him as reached to put them on. “You’re not needed, love. It’s just me and the Knights. Get some sleep. I’ll be back in an hour. Two, tops.”

Hux didn’t need convincing, rolling back over and tucking himself into Ren’s scent.

He awoke three hours later to Ren’s lips on his throat, a gentle kiss pulling him from dreamless slumber. “Mmmm what took so long? It’s still the night cycle, can you come back to bed?”

“No, I have to leave.”

“Leave? What? Leave for where?” Sleep and confusion muddled his brain as Hux sat up, suddenly too awake.

“Brief mission with the Knights. Safe, short. I’ll be back before you know it.”

Hux’s heart sank as he took in Kylo, standing before his bed in full armor, holding his mask at his side. “You’re leaving now?”

“In a moment, yes.”

“Alright. I’ll get ready and see you off–”

“Hux, you can’t. You’re not due on the bridge for half a cycle. Officers would talk.”

“Right, well. Please get home safely.”

A too-brief kiss and hiss of a helmet later and he was out the door.
