#35 please, darling! ❤️ if you don’t mind!

omega-hux:

35: “about the baby….it’s yours.”

Hux stood in the fresher, staring down at the pregnancy test in his hands. He had tried ignoring the morning sickness, telling himself it was just stress. He tried ignoring his tiredness, saying it was just exhaustion from over working.

He couldn’t ignore the proof in his hands.

He should have known better. Known that during heats no birth control was 100%. Kylo refused to wear condoms and Hux didn’t fight him on the issue. Kylo was supreme leader now, and Hux was nothing. Nothing but an Omega to sedate the new leaders primal desires.

Hux knew their rivalry would bring them to this if Kylo ever got the upper hand. It was the final way to bully Hux into submission, to show everyone in the Order that Kylo was in charge; always had been.

Hux would be lying if he said the sex wasn’t good. In the throes of heat Kylo had been the perfect lover, albeit a tad rougher than he liked.

Sighing, he tossed the stick in the trash.

He would have to do something about this.

****

Days turned into weeks, and Hux still had not dealt with it. His initial desire to get rid of it before Kylo found out faded every time he walked by the med bay. It felt like some primal betrayal to the being forming inside of him; It wasn’t the child’s fault that Kylo ren was it’s father.

He missed his next two heats, and it was only a matter of time before the Supreme leader noticed. When his comm finally chimed with a message from Kylo, demanding a meeting in the throne room, Hux knew that day was now.

He tried to keep his thoughts closed and his fear in check as he entered, not letting any hint of his distress show as he kneeled before Kylo. Yet he knew why he was here. Kylo would be a fool to not have noticed by now; even the Omega’s scent had changed.

“How long did you think you could hide this?” Kylo said impassively from the throne. His indifferent tone only made Hux more uneasy. “I can smell it on you. Your pregnant. You’re so distraught you can’t even hide your panic right now.”

“Supreme leader I-”

“Enough.” Kylo said, standing from his throne. Hux stood as well, taking a protective step back as Kylo walked toward him. Hux instinctively put a hand over his stomach, afraid Kylo might attack him as he got closer.

This action did not go unnoticed by Kylo, who frowned as he stopped in front of Hux. “Who was it?” Kylo demanded, reaching out and grasping Hux’s jaw in his hand. Hux faltered, flinching slightly as Kylo’s firm hand held him still.

“I don’t understand.” Hux replied, fear growing. He knew Kylo didn’t like it when he didn’t get direct answers, even if Hux didn’t know what he was talking about.

“You know what. Who did you fuck. Tell me so I can kill them for tainting my toy. I can pry it from your mind Hux, you cannot lie to me.” Kylo hissed, his grip tightening.

Hux couldn’t help but laugh, despite being terrified.

“Who else? Do you think anyone on this ship is foolish enough to sleep with your pet?” Hux said, pulling away as Kylo’s grip on him loosened.

“The baby…it’s yours.” Hux added softly.

The Alpha looked as if he truly had not expected to be the father after everything they had done. Kylo was always so focused on Hux’s possible betrayal that he couldn’t see what was right in front of him. It would have been hilarious if Hux wasn’t still afraid. They were not an item. Not equals. There was no telling what Kylo would do about this news, or to their unborn child.

“How far along?”

“Three months.”

The air was tense, and an uneasy silence followed. Hux was about to speak when Kylo suddenly took his hand, pulling him close.

“May I?” Kylo asked, his gloved hand hovering over Hux’s stomach. Hux simply nodded, more shocked that the Alpha even asked permission.

Kylo pressed his hand softly to Hux belly. The Omega was still flat, but he knew he would be showing soon. His frame was small and left no room to hide anything.

“I can feel it…with the force. It is mine, it’s small…but…it has a force signature.” Kylo said, amusement in his voice. Hux couldn’t help but finally relax. Kylo seemed interested, or at least intrigued. It was a good sign for the baby’s safety.

“I was…afraid of how you would react.” He admitted.

“I won’t harm you, Hux. Or our child.” Kylo said, pulling his hand back. He took Hux’s hand again, stroking it softly with his thumb.

Hux sighed softly. It was a start. It wasn’t love, but it was a promise of protection. He could work with that. Maybe he could learn to love the Alpha, and the same in return. Maybe they could one day stop this petty rivalry.

“I know.”
