I am a trans man from the Chicago area, and have been on T for close to 2 years and I’ve finally found a doctor in my area that accepts insurance for top surgery!
However even with insurance covering a large portion of the payment, I still cannot afford to pay for the surgery on my own. My mother is now retired, and my dad works close to 50-60 hour weeks just to keep us a float, I cannot ask of or expect for them to give me any financial assistance.
Estimated costs out of pocket is around $3500 usd, I do work part time, so I will not need the full amount, and even saving up half of that amount would be such a huge relief on me.
