until Ben disappears one night when the Jedi Temple is destroyed and Luke lies to the First Order Lieutenant about Ben, saying that he’s disappeared and hiding the fact that Ben has fallen to the dark side

so Hux almost goes mad with grief, doing everything he can in his power to find his lost love

even presently, in his chambers on the Finalizer, an entire wall is filled with a massive starmap and pictures of Ben, shots Hux took of him when they were together and possible sightings from holo-security cameras that Hux has hacked but he’s got no leads, it’s like Ben has completely disappeared from the galaxy

and meanwhile, Kylo Ren is in the next room, sat cross-legged on his bed with his hands in his hair, crying as he tries to block out Hux’s intense thoughts about Ben Solo, trying to remember what Snoke told him

‘Reveal your old self to Armitage Hux, my apprentice, and he shall die, slowly and painfully, and right before your very eyes. Stay away from him, or else.’

so Kylo has no choice but to keep his mask on and act bitterly towards Hux, though it kills him everyday to be so close to Hux–to his precious Tidge–and not be able to hold him, he doesn’t know how much longer he can keep it up

and then, Starkiller Base is attacked and Snoke has ordered General Hux to rescue the maskless Kylo Ren…
