Hux never emotionally developed past like childhood level of emotional processing because of Brendol’s abuse and constant repression of his feelings I guarantee it, that’s why he sees all relationships with others as like really petty one-upmanship and is constantly seeking out praise and completely driven by rage and insecurity; I think Kylo would have been given the tools to be more adult about his emotions but I think Kylo literally does not feel personal accountability and thinks his emotional fallouts are the problem of others, who really should just feel sorry for him.
