Tagged by @looking-glass22, but I lost the rules and I think it was something like… post seven lines of your WIP? So here’s a snippet from The Sunlight Hour chapter two!

Sullen, Techie takes the cup gingerly in his trembling hands
and sips at the edge, eyes lowered. Matt stands awkwardly in the center of the
small room, shifting weight from one foot to the next and clutching his flimsy
clipboard of notes to his broad chest. The scrubs are a little too tight, but
he can’t afford another pair. His salary is monthly, goddammit.

Once the cup is drained (protocol forces him to check)
Techie slides under the blanket and pulls it up to his chin. It’s oddly
endearing, and Matt has to fight back an unprofessionally soft smile every time
Techie does it. He watches Matt with those big blues of his until Matt turns
towards the switch and lowers the lights to 5%.

so I’m getting past a rough patch in life rn, as some of you might know I am unemployed and was desperately trying to get an office job since customer service has previously left my mental health in a terrible condition, but I couldn’t get anything in the past month so I have resigned to going back to a barista job as I really need money, and I’m just hoping that my mental health will survive it long enough for me to find an administrative position in the meantime. I have a job interview coming up on Wednesday, and I’m trying to get an extension for coursework that I missed last Thursday so will be skyping one of my profs tmrw morning. I think I’m coping? kind of? but my presence on tumblr will probably be weird, just a heads up. also, if you’d like to support me, I have a ko-fi button on my blog, and three commission slots open at the moment.
