How would they react if the person they fell in love with turned out to be non-human?

If this was a secret kept from him, Techie will be incredibly hurt. He understands in theory why they didn’t tell him at first, but… his heart aches. He poured his heart out to them; couldn’t they try to trust him too?

Despite that, far from it being a problem, Techie would be majorly accepting! He’s all kinds of screwed up, a little species difference doesn’t phase him. As long as they can try and understand each other regardless, and accept each other for who they truly are, he’ll be crazy in love!

Would they have a family with someone who was not of the same species/human-ness as them?

Hell yes! Techie craves fatherhood so, so bad! The feeling of belonging and all the unconditional love… It’s his biggest wish.

There’s one caveat: if the species difference makes a smooth pregnancy impossible and there’s a risk of his partner dying… NOPE. He won’t chance it. Their life comes before his dream. (This is assuming, of course, that his partner will be the pregnant one and not him …)

Techie’s not a violent person. Really, he’s not. But sometimes, when crowded into a corner by a flesh-and-blood monster like a wild-eyed feral animal, his terror reaches a breaking point and he just… snaps .

This was… more than Techie had ever had in his life. Tears pooled in his eyes and he wiped hastily at them before they could fall and streak his cheeks, embarrassed to have his new-found brother see him be… such a mess, honestly. “It’s s-so nice,” Techie chokes out, and promptly feels guilty for even considering asking for anything else, given how hospitable Hux has been.

He stops his futile attempt at falling asleep and sits up once more, fixing his quizzical gaze on Nao. “Well, I don’t w-want you to sleep here either! It isn’t very, um, comfortable,” he admits with a sheepish, embarrassed grin.
