Sarah ran to meet techie in recovery. She smiled brightly. “I told you it’d be ok” she let out a grateful sigh. She held his hand and stroked it with her thumb Softly. “I’m so proud of you. You’re so brave.”

“I couldn’t have done it w-without your help, Sarah. I’m a b-big baby, but you make me feel b-br-brave.” Techie smiles at her, drained but glad to be alive. He kisses the top of her hand.

“I’m g-going to take the b-bandages off in a little bit. Can you b-believe it? I have n-new eyes now,” he says, voice filled with wonder. “I d-don’t even know what they l-look like yet!”

A flash of red caught his eye. There weren’t that many red-heads around after all. “Hux! We need to discuss–” his vocoder voice cut off mid sentence as he finally got a decent look at the man. It wasn’t the General, but… “How…? Who are you?” he demanded. -kylocanyounot

Techie froze and felt ice run through his veins. Why is Kylo Ren, of all people, talking to him?! The blood is pulsing so hard in his ears that he doesn’t even know what the man is saying, and can only stare blankly at him.

“Um, ah,” he says, very intelligently.

And then bolts for the nearest exit.

“A w-witch!” Techie lets out a loud guffaw and promptly turns bright pink. He hadn’t meant to laugh. “You’re m-more of a cool wi-wiz-zard,” he says earnestly while the doctor takes his bionic eyeballs and examines them closely.

He looks strange sitting on a medbay cot; sockets empty, smiling faintly, cheeks red.

Techie’s expression turns somber as he recalls Peach Trees. “T-torture, I guess…” He takes a deep breath and adds, “MaMa just *did* th-things, and I wouldn’t know why. It was f-fun for her, probably, to m-make me scream.”
