Two more minutes approximately and he’d be there. There was a (huge) chance that he wouldn’t survive this insanity. Who just storms a villain’s HQ without any real prep?
A desperate father, he supposes, and grits his teeth.

Techie doesn’t even know how he does it (he’s on autopilot, thinking only of his daughter) but he ends up with a stolen vehicle and the coordinates he’d read on the console running through his mind in a rush of numbers:
548548548548548548548
Hang on, Addie, he thinks as he speeds to her rescue. I’m coming.
The officers leave him alone for a few minutes, sitting shivering, until he thinks distantly, “I need to go see Addie.” Then, more desperately, “She took Adeline!”
As if possessed, Techie walks over to the abandoned console and hacks into it, finding and saving the estimated location of MaMa’s hideout.
He has to save her. He must.
Next stop: vacation! Well, they were going to be on a ship for who knows how long before their vacation could officially start, but Techie was trying to be positive.
A ton of hours and three awkward silences later, they arrived on the pleasant beach planet and settled into the resort. He headed straight for the playground for Adeline’s sake, letting her go off to play with a “Stay c-cl-close, Addie!”
She smiled playing in the sand
Techie sat himself down on a hard bench and watched her play, feeling relaxed and hopeful. This is good. This is so, so *nice*. For once he feels like nothing will go wrong.
She saw swingjng at the far end when a women came out of nowhere with a white rag. The women placed it over her nose and mouth. She was passed out suddly she woke up in a strange cage
It seemed to be happening in slow motion. Adeline, snatched up; Techie flying out of his seat and giving chase to the woman. When she turned around it was MaMa, and he turned paper-pale before stopping in his tracks.
His legs wouldn’t move any further. He screamed and screamed for help until a crowd formed all around him.
The next thing he knows, he’s in the police headquarters, sitting in a soft chair wearing a shock blanket. The cops speak softly to him but nothing matters anymore.
Adeline is gone.

Alright. Okay. Maybe this wasn’t a disaster after all, just a blessing in disguise. Techie gingerly picked Addie up and thanked Ren before heading for his room once more. They were going to have to pack, decide where to go, and…also buy Adeline some new clothes because hers were much too big for her now.
Matt watched her while Techie got everything in order for their trip. In the end, he decided on a safe, touristy planet good for families. He didn’t bother to remember the name, it had a bunch of numbers in it, and anyways they’d only be there three weeks max.
What could go wrong?
Adeline woke up
A few days later, they were all packed and ready to go. Techie held tightly to Adeline’s hand, afraid that she might try to wander off. She was doing that more than ever now that all her memories of Techie had been erased.
“Let’s g-go have some f-fun, baby girl,” he said.

Anger rises in his chest. “But isn’t th-there something y-you can *do*?” He’s getting red in the face. “What’s the p-point of having the F-Force and not being a-able to helo Addie?!”
He looked at the girl “you know there where times when I just wanted to use the force to make her forget her memories because of what your brother did to her? ”
Oh. He’d been so caught up thinking of himself that he hadn’t considered if this was *good* for Adeline. Techie brightened up someehat despite the pain his heart and gave Ren a lopsided smile. “You’re r-right,” he sighed, close to tears, “This can give her a ch-chance at having a n-normal, nice childhood.”
He began to consider maybe taking some leave days to vacation with her, give her good memories to replace the old ones. But it *hurt*, damn it! To so quickly lose his relationship with his daughter and be helpless to get it back.
“If I apply f-for leave with Addie, w-will you convince Hux to let us g-go?”
