he also bought a pair thinking that it will have the same effect on hux. but he ended up pissing him instead. xD

If you think Hux wouldn’t play Neko Atsume on his breaks you’re dead wrong.
If you think Ren wouldn’t throw a fit every time Tubbs showed up and ruined his kitty-collecting endeavors you’re equally wrong.

“What?” Ren’s stance is protective; the big bulk of him spread wide in the space between Brendol and the rest of the world.
“They shot Chumma.” Brendol chances something subtle: presses his weight forward, just hovering behind Ren, lets his arm brush Ren’s back. “The little alien. Hold on.”
Ren shifts enough to let Brendol through, but Brendol can feel him right behind as he quickly skirts the fallen enforcers to the far end of the bay: a hot resonance at his back and the smell of seared blood trailing.

It seems my struggle with tablet continues so I decided to do the linework with pen and paper. This was the moment I absolutely fell in love with the fic when I read it for the first time. Protective Ren being a literal wall that protects Hux from the world, and Hux, even when physically hurt and distraught, still knows how to handle Ren almost instinctively?? I go back to the fic to read bits here and there and every time your characterization amazes me ❤

I don’t know if I like this but I’ve spent way too much time on it, so here, I’ll throw some pointless tentative relationship fluff at you and flee the scene.

Ficlet for the comic:
“Listen Michael I don’t care what you think, finance is not
going to budge on our budget. We can’t get the shoe brand in our warehouse
without having to relocate or decommission two departments— No.”Hux sighed, contract manager or not these decisions were not meant for him. His
boss had attempted multiple times already to get his vote on the board.
Rustling for his keys in his laptop bag he wedged the phone between his ear and
shoulder.“While I would love to continue this discussion its 7, I’ve just done two hours
of overtime, not accounting that cheeky lunch meeting you planned. You owe me
seventeen bucks for that atrocious steak sandwich. See you on Monday.”With a slide over the screen of his smartphone he hung up on his boss. Thank
god he had his fist up his boss’ ass like a muppet in good credit so he could
get away with pulling these stunts. Then again human resources would have a
blast knowing the amount of non-work-related calls Michael made. Keep calm and
keep the information stashed in your brain if this ever goes belly side up.Nimble fingers tied the apron behind his back and Hux
started his late dinner, chopping away at the vegetables on his cutting board.
Even some wedges of Mango for an exotic flavor. Roughly thirty minutes in a firm
knock echoed through the hallway, odd time for a visitor. “Coming!” Wiping his
hands on the charcoal apron and giving the stew a good stir, he made his way to
the front door of his apartment. Apartment was a big word, he basically held
the top floor of a flipped small two-story warehouse whilst his odd artistic
downstairs neighbor held the studio-style apartment downstairs.Much to his surprise said neighbor stood in front of him
when he opened the door. Dark brown eyes
glanced at him before turning down to stare at the floor, a hand nervously brushing
his hair back before settling in the nape of his neck. The tall broad artist
cleaned up quite nicely without all the paint.“H-hey. I’m so sorry for bothering you this late but… Can I
ask you what you are cooking? It smells so good.” Ren, he believed his name
was. Ren bit his bottom lip briefly, eyes finding Hux’ again. “Could I… Maybe…”A strong growl from Ren’s stomach interrupted his question, oh. He was starving.
Crossing his arms Hux leaned against the doorway, a smirk on his lips.“It’s not quite done yet but… Come on in.”
