Titleception is an event where each person participating is randomly assigned 3-4 titles and they create a work based on at least one of those titles. This can be a fic, art, cosplay, whatever you’re inspired to create!
Titles will be collected through submissions as well as random generators in order to provide a wide variety of titles.
If you are so inspired, you are more than welcome to create for as many titles as you’d like.
Fics can be submitted to the Titleception AO3 collection, which will be coming soon, you may submit to us here or also post on your own blog and tag us. Other works (art, etc) can also be submitted here, or post on your own blog and tag us.
The official posting window is from March 1 – March 31, however, you are more than welcome to submit outside of that window!
In April, we’ll have a master list of all the works created for this event!
How it works
We collect a bunch of titles and put them in a title master list
We collect a bunch of titles and put them in a title master list (repeated cause trust us its a very long list)
Each person will get assigned 3-4 random titles from which to choose from
You write a Kylux fic with one of those titles, adjacent pairings are encouraged, and side ships are acceptable so long as Kylux (or adjacent) is the main pairing
You are free to do more than one of the titles if you choose
Submit your fic to the AO3 collection or to the blog
At the end, we’ll reveal all the possible titles and so anyone interested can write fics for them
* If you made a fanwork for each title and would like additional titles please contact us and we will happily assign you some more.
Rules
Don’t be a jackass
Have fun
Kylux as the main pair. Side pairings welcome but Kylux must be the main focus
Create a Kylux (or adjacent) related work based on one of the titles you’re assigned (one title for each work)
Any genre, rating, or content is welcome just so long as it’s Kylux
Please make sure all works are tagged properly to the best of your ability
Dates
Participation Sign ups start on Dec 1st and end Feb 15th
Title Submissions Start Dec 1st and end Dec 31st (if you have anything you want to put forward for a title please be sure to send it to us during this time)
We will be assigning titles Jan 4th through Jan 6th (you may start work on your fic/art as soon as you have your titles)
Submission of completed works start March 1st and run through March 31st (any works finished earlier than this may be posted on Tumblr at anytime but Ao3 reveals will not start until March 1st so please remember to let us know if you finish early so we can work something out with you)
Works finished after March 31st can and will still be posted on the Titleception blog, though anything posted/submitted after the Master Post is finished will not be added to it for the event
Master Post of all completed works for the event will go up on April 14th
A Master Post of all the titles collected over the event will go up on April 6th so anyone may continue creating fic or art outside of the event if they wish
If anyone has any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach out to one of the mods Kittens or Magic, or in our ask box. We will respond as quickly as we are able to. And remember to sign up here by Feb 15th.
And the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the event.
It’s that time again! London MCM is coming up at the end of the month, and with it, another kylux meet-up!
The plan is to meet at 3 pm on Saturday. I’ll scout out a location Friday, but somewhere around the food court has been good in the past.
We’ll also meet up on Saturday evening (and Friday too, if people are interested) at the Novotel bar for food, drinks, and kylux Cards Against Humanity! You are welcome to come along in the evenings even if you aren’t attending MCM.
Agents of the Force also usually do photo shoots on Saturday and Sunday at 1 pm, and there will be lots of Star Wars cosplayers there.
I’ve tagged everyone I can think of below, but please signal boost this to any potentially interested UK pals!
I’m so excited to get this project off the ground and everybody’s enthusiasm has been great!!! I’m looking forward to collaborating with all of you guys and making this Kylux Tarot Deck a reality!
After speaking with a number of interested people -some new and some participants from the last deck attempt- I have decided on a course of action for this project.
Welcome back to another week at the Kylux Cantina! Apologies for the slight delay in getting this week’s theme up and running!
This week’s theme is: Monuments
Please send all prompts related to this theme to our askbox (anon is on).
Responding to the theme of Monuments, this could include prompts about different forms of monuments in a physical sense, such as “statues,” “memorials,” “cenotaph,” “headstones,” or “eternal flame.” You can also prompt ideas about archaeological or natural monuments like “the great pyramids,” or “the garden of the gods.” You could also submit prompts of common sayings such as “a monument to stupidity,” “up on a pedestal,” or “memento mori,” or “man of straw.” Finally, please feel free to submit prompts that think more broadly about what these monuments could celebrate or remember in relationship to these two characters. We also accept images, excerpts of poetry, or song lyrics!
Kind reminder that the Kylux Cantina isn’t a headcanon community, it’s a community designed to encourage creative writing and art from as many angles as possible. Please keep your prompts open-ended, to ensure inventive drabble/drawble responses from multiple authors/artists; don’t send full story outlines or fleshed-out headcanons.
On Sunday, the prompts will be published throughout the day, so as not to flood your dashes. At your leisure, you are welcome to reblog the prompt with your own drabbles or art, or submit to the cantina.
Please note: The Cantina generally accepts prompts until Saturday midnight prior to posting day—there is no guarantee that prompts sent on Sunday after posting has begun will be able to join the queue.
Asks are open, have fun! And you can always find the list of our past themes here.
Hello everyone, some of you probably remember this weekly event that died down a bit during the wait for The Last Jedi, but it’s back and I intend to keep it that way!
Some basic rules: send in your headcanons, art, fanfiction, ideas, anything that comes to mind and is related to the concept of trans Star Wars characters (falling anywhere on the trans spectrum, which includes all the nonbinary folks!), and I will post them throughout the day! We need more trans positivity in the fandom, and more representation, so let’s get together and spread some love. You can see some general DOs and DON’Ts under the cut.
Please REBLOG this post to signal boost if you can (fyi likes literally do nothing since only you are seeing your like)! Thank you 🙂
This is an ongoing event starting now (March 9, 2018) and running through March 31, 2018.
No pressure; let’s just all fic and art and moodboard and playlist and shitpost and meta and otherwise create based on this theme. Post what you come up with and tag it #keepinghimclose, and I will gather everything together on the blog @keepinghimclose. (If you’ve already created something for this theme and you’d like it included, please let me know.)
Welcome back to another week at the Kylux Cantina! After a few weeks of apocalypses, pain, and otherwise gloomy prompts, here’s something on the lighter side to balance things out!
This week’s theme is: Comfort
Please send all prompts related to this theme to our askbox (anon is on).
Responding to the theme of Comfort, this could include prompts like “a gesture of comfort,” “small comforts,” “creature comforts,” “a pat on the back,” “too close for comfort,” or “outside his comfort zone.” Please feel free to submit prompts that think more broadly about giving, accepting, or refusing comfort after psychological or physical distress, hurt, etc. We also accept images, or excerpts of poetry or song lyrics!
