So, TLD Techienician sad stuff. Modern au.

Hux brothers separated when their parents divorced. Techie lived poor, his Ma developed a drinking habit, he ran away with a guy, which turned only to worse, cos the man abused Techie.

He found Armitage in Instagram, where he showed his shiny life in a big city: views from the private jet, selfies from the private gym and so on. Techie refreshes the page and watches pictures as a movie of some unattainable life. Unexpectantly Armitage answers to his friend request and later starts chatting with the brother, usually when he is a little drunk. But only drunk on the best wines, you know.

Turns out, he has founded a start-up developing drone technologies and not only successfully sold it to a major arms manufacturer, but married the CEO as well. That man is so ancient, as if he personally lobbied the Second Amendment. But Armitage also boasts a shredded young lover working for a private military contractor.

Once, when Techie goes home from a shop, he spots police surrounding the building and runs away. He learns from news that his partner was arrested, but some of his friends managed to escape. He can’t return home and uses the last money to buy a bus ticket and travel to Armitage. He doesn’t know his address, only finds the building where he works. He knows from Hux Instagram routine, at what time he leaves for lunch and risks to approach him. To his surprise Armitage is concerned and helpful, he cares, finds him a place to live, helps with the documents and job.

They spend time together, go to movies and cafes, sometimes Hux stays overnight. He still talks about his wonderful life, but never invites Techie home. Techie thinks that his brother, probably, is ashamed of him or smth. Until he starts noticing things – a yellowish trace of a bruise, stiff movements, sudden choice of turtlenecks…
