Techie gasped and went to rub the kitten’s soft fur. “Wh-where you’d come from, little guy?”

“So your name is Bill?” Phasma asked with a smile. “Pleasure to meet you, my name is Lenina.”
“William, r-really, but Bill for short,” he said, a small smile dawning on his face, and then shook her hand. “Nice to m-meet you, Lenina.”
He took one look at his dirty work uniform and said, “Oh! Sorry, I th-think I’ve gotten you dirty.”
“Not m-me,” Techie smiles, beyond happy for them. “I just think it’s about t-time he settles down. The level of st-stress he’s under will k-kill him!”

“About as well a-as a stressed out sibling can,” he laughed. Hux always overworked himself to the point of ignoring all else, twin included. “But he’s helped me g-get settled into the Finalizer, so I owe him a l-lot.”
“So, you like Phasma then?” Hux nods and smiles slightly. “Take good care of her.” @general-gingerbowie

“Yes! I r-really, um, I m-mean… yes, I d-do,” Techie blushes. He’s turning so red someone might mistake him for one of those old-timey Earth fire extinguishers. “And I p-plan to,” he adds shyly, but looks up from the ground and fixes his gaze on his brother, brows furrowed. “But don’t y-you like her too?”
That bothers him more than anything. He knows Hux doesn’t have many good things in his life. Can Techie really go off to his own “happily ever after” with the girl of his brother’s dreams? SHOULD he?
“Techie, darling, tell Armie I miss him.”
“I promise I w-will, Captain. As soon as I’m done f-fixing up this console! “You-know-who” s-smashed it again.”
Techie nodded in wordless sympathy, having had much experience in “escaping” from bad situations; whether it be from a gruesome place, a scary job, or somebody touching you when you’d rather they not.
“He saw a l-lot of greatness in y-you,” he said, while thinking: and I see it too. “I’m not crazy about s-some of the things Armitage does, but he m-made the best ch-choice when he asked for you, Phasma.”
“Techie, darling, tell Armie I miss him.”
“I promise I w-will, Captain. As soon as I’m done f-fixing up this console! “You-know-who” s-smashed it again.”
“How’d you c-come to be in the F-first Order?” This was something he’d wondered about for a long, long time.
“Techie, darling, tell Armie I miss him.”
“I promise I w-will, Captain. As soon as I’m done f-fixing up this console! “You-know-who” s-smashed it again.”
With his hands on his chin, he gives a little laugh, “It doesn’t sur-surprise me. Your singing is m-magical!”
“Techie, darling, tell Armie I miss him.”
“I promise I w-will, Captain. As soon as I’m done f-fixing up this console! “You-know-who” s-smashed it again.”
“I d-didn’t,” Techie admits, apologetic. “But if you’ll l-let me I, uh, I w-want to learn everyth-thing about you, Phasma.”
His face couldn’t get any redder if he tried.
“I could start off with life before the First Order,” she said, admiring the roses and blushing ever so slightly.
“Whatev- ever you want to t-tell me,” Techie smiles and brings her the vase to place the flowers on the desk. He sits on the edge of his bed, cross-legged, and waits for her to continue, enraptured.
