It was odd that he hadn’t seen techie for days. If there was something wrong Techie would tell him so the fact that he had called out but still had t told him any reason for it left matt worried that something was wrong. He let his concerns be pushed away until it had been at least four days without seeing his best friend. At this point he knew something was up and he needed to check on techie.
Matt stopped when he came to rest in front of techies quater door. He knew the ginger was in there because he could hear him moving around. He knocked for a while but there was no answer but still he could hear movement.
“ I’m coming in.” He said
He input the code techie had given him a while ago. A sharp breath was sucked in as he saw his best friend then the scent hit his nose. Techie was in rut the whole room smelled of it. He wasn’t even aware that the redhead was an alpha but techie didn’t know that matt was an omega. The scent dampening soap may have hidden his scent but did nothing to change how his hormones reacted when presented with an alpha especially one in rut. Against better judgment he stepped fully into techies room shutting the door behind him. He told himself it was so others wouldn’t smell techies rut.
Techie was in much the same state; locked up in his room, suffering through the rut all by himself. He didn’t dare take another omega into his bed, knowing they wouldn’t mean anything. It would be a hollow coupling, a pale imitation. Matt was the only one he wanted. The only one he would ever want again.
Once Techie was safely out of rut, he resumed work. But it was torture seeing Matt in the corridors, having their eyes meet and then for both of them to immediately drop their gazes to the floor as though burned.
Several times, he almost reached out to grasp at the edge of his sleeve when they walked past each other. Was this the end of everything?
