☎- drunk, questionable voicemail message

Kylo pressed a small button on his helmet, brows furrowed at the message. He knew who, just not wide. It played quietly to him inside the helmet, and thank the stars he was wearing it. He’s was three shades of red and fairly concerned.

He stalked down to the levels of the ship where he likely lived and using the information he could conjure up in the ship’s data bank found his room.

“What was that?!” He balked, still more embarrassed than anything, but at least hidden.

“Nooo… Ren you don’t *understand*! I meant what I s-said! I want you to d-do it nooooowwww!” Stubbornly, he clung to Ren and refused to let go.

Techie and Adeline Hux [Closed] [Part 3]

And so, leisurely strolling down the labyrinth of corridors hand in hand, with the distant sounds of goons sniffing them out, Techie and Adeline smiled.

Together.

Neither knew if they’d make it out. Perhaps neither really cared.

But they were together, and they were making the best of it. And that’s all that mattered.

“So your name is Bill?” Phasma asked with a smile. “Pleasure to meet you, my name is Lenina.”

techiehux:

“William, r-really, but Bill for short,” he said, a small smile dawning on his face, and then shook her hand. “Nice to m-meet you, Lenina.”

He took one look at his dirty work uniform and said, “Oh! Sorry, I th-think I’ve gotten you dirty.”

“About as well a-as a stressed out sibling can,” he laughed. Hux always overworked himself to the point of ignoring all else, twin included. “But he’s helped me g-get settled into the Finalizer, so I owe him a l-lot.”

A flash of red caught his eye. There weren’t that many red-heads around after all. “Hux! We need to discuss–” his vocoder voice cut off mid sentence as he finally got a decent look at the man. It wasn’t the General, but… “How…? Who are you?” he demanded. -kylocanyounot

Techie froze and felt ice run through his veins. Why is Kylo Ren, of all people, talking to him?! The blood is pulsing so hard in his ears that he doesn’t even know what the man is saying, and can only stare blankly at him.

“Um, ah,” he says, very intelligently.

And then bolts for the nearest exit.

Troubles momentarily forgotten, Techie gets closer to the view and presses his hands against the window, awestruck. “I can s-see why,” he breathes.

“Everything seems so s-small when you look at space.” He turns to Kylo and gives him a lopsided grin. “Like you’re n-nothing but dust. But in… A good w-way?”

Techie felt something slip into his thoughts. It was a strange sensation, and his initial response was to fight it, but once he realized it must have been Ren, he relaxed and opened himself up to it.

Far too long he’d been tightly closed down, holding onto his fears and terrors as if they’d save him. Maybe it was time to show someone. And who better to understand than a mind-reader?

Techie closed his eyes and showed Ren his scariest memories of MaMa: grinning wide with bloody teeth, her breath on his ear with the knife edge brushing his stomach, the feeling of her fingers pushing deep within him as he sobbed, helpless to stop it.

Suddenly it felt much too overwhelming to show ANYONE, so Techie cut off the flow of memories and shrank back against the wall, nearly bumping into the doctor, who had been watching with some interest.

“I’m s-sorry,” he said.

Techie and Adeline Hux [Closed] [Part 3]

He held her away from him and gaped in shock. Her first words to him and it’s THAT? The insanity of it all leaves him speechless, and then he does something strange: he laughs. Long and hard.

There’s some desperation in there too, but mostly it’s joy, and disbelief, and *exhaustion*.

He picks himself up and takes her by the hand. “C’mon Addie,” he says mildly, once the laughter dies down. “Let’s get you s-something to eat.”

Damn it all, if this is going to be their last moment he’s going to ENJOY it.

He clutches onto Ren’s sleeve like his life depends on it. “Mostly I g-get called Techie, and I’m used to it so y-you can call me that…” His eyes focus and refocus on Ren’s face, trying to settle them down.

“You’ve been k-kind to me, at least.” He sways a little on his feet until he finds his balance and tentatively lets go of Ren. With a small smile, he takes a few steps and says, “R-Really! You’re one of th-the few people that have treated me w-well. Ever!”

Techie figures he’s already said it, so he may as well stand behind his words.

Techie and Adeline Hux [Closed] [Part 3]

Techie’s legs gave out as the pressure of anxiety in his chest intensified. On his knees on the cold ground, he started to sob. How where they going to get out? How was he going to keep them both safe? It all seemed so hopeless. “S-sorry, Addie,” he sobbed. “I’m a t-terrible dad.”
