Techie bit back a scream until he bled. “What d-do you w-want from us?” he growled, terrified and frustrated and *furious*. “I’ll give you what you wabt as l-long as Addie’s safe and aw-away from you.” The blaster did not move away from MaMa’s chest.

[Swing AU] Hux walked into the band’s rehearsal space when he heard someone playing a saxophone- only to find it was Techie, playing beautifully like no one’s business. “Techie, how did you get in here?! Where did you get that saxophone?!”
Techie squeaked and almost dropped it, catching it again and steadying it upon his lap. “H-Hux! I, ah, I j-just- wanted t-to try it,” he said weakly, eyebrows scrunched up together.
After a little pause, he asked, cautiously optimistic, “W-was I any g-good?”
“O-okay,” Techie nodded, determined. He wouldn’t screw this up for anything. “Sh-should I…start n-now?” He looked around with wide eyes before taking his instrument and clutching it to his chest.
A flash of red caught his eye. There weren’t that many red-heads around after all. “Hux! We need to discuss–” his vocoder voice cut off mid sentence as he finally got a decent look at the man. It wasn’t the General, but… “How…? Who are you?” he demanded. -kylocanyounot
Techie froze and felt ice run through his veins. Why is Kylo Ren, of all people, talking to him?! The blood is pulsing so hard in his ears that he doesn’t even know what the man is saying, and can only stare blankly at him.
“Um, ah,” he says, very intelligently.
And then bolts for the nearest exit.
Techie digs his fingernails into the nasal edges of his eyes and pulls them out slightly, wiggling his fingers to press at a spot behind the eyeball. They release from their place and dangle out of the socket, connected only to the ocular nerve. The extra-ocular muscles twitch and bleed from the sudden separation.
Techie’s tension spikes despite the wave of calm, but he answers Ren as coherently as he can manage, “Hux th-thinks I’m a f-freak. Wh-which I am, s-so I don’t really h-hold it against him.”
Techie and Adeline Hux [Closed] [Part 3]
Techie burst into the room where Adeline was held after four or so tries with different doors. He’d swiped a blaster from one of the wrong rooms and pointed it at MaMa.
“I d-don’t know how you s-survived, but I promise you won’t make it out alive th-this time,” he forced out through gritted teeth. The blaster shook in his hands.

With some trepidation, he gently took her hand and kissed the top of it as quick as he could. When he pulled back his entire face was alight. “I’m honored t-to be in the band w-with all of you, and I won’t l-let you down!”

He suddenly felt too hot in his own skin. “Uh, Miss Phasma, h-hello!” Techie offered her his hand but suddenly whipped it back towards him, then looked like he was caught between kissing her hand and doing a curtsy.
He settled for just slapping a rigid, toothy smile on his face and standing frozen in front of her.
Women always made him extra nervous.

“I have to get th-them checked all the time. Once a month at l-least, or they might g-get infected.” Techie pauses and curls in on himself, shoulders hunched. “It’s not pretty,” he confesses, grimacing. “You don’t h-have to look if you don’t w-want to.”
The doctor comes in and get uncomfortably close to Techie’s face, probably spits on him a few times on accident, rattles off a list of questions that he dutifully answers, then asks him to remove his eyes.
“R-really, it’s gross… I don’t m-mind if you look aw-away.”

“Stay,” Techie blurts out, much too fast. He hates all the stuff they do to his eyes when he gets them checked. Maybe having Kylo Ren around to talk to while the tests go on would help keep him distracted.
“You think I’m t-tolerable?” That’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to him. Even Armitage, at best, occasionally calls him “other Hux” instead of “reject”. “Sibling” in the rare event that he had a good lay and is in a better mood.
A different droid comes in and does a quick but obnoxiously loud outer scan of his sclera, cornea, and iris. The worst part is yet to come.

Techie, meanwhile, was blushing like a newlywed at being picked up in Ren’s arms. He wasn’t used to being touched at all, much less so kindly (or by someone so scary).
All he could do was cling to Ren like a child and hope this wasn’t an elaborate trick or a new, strange form of abuse. He wasn’t sure he could survive something like that. Still, Ren kept feeding him the calm and as they went to the medbay Techie began to melt into Ren.
This is very… nice, actually.
The ride was over much too soon, and Ren deposited him onto the cot. Techie looked up at Ren in wonder. “Th-thank you,” he said, “You didn’t h-have to help m-me, so I… I r-really appreciate it.”
