@lucasfilm @disney why didnât this make it to the behind the scene feature? is there an interview of him in his hux costume? anyway, please include him in the next bts. thank you.
TBH, If Disney was smart, theyâd have a âBehind the First Orderâ Netflix series or something, where they go more in depth with The First Order. It could be like satire, it could be like a space version of The Office.Â
Space version of The Office where Hux looks at the camera every time Ren says something stupid. I would pay cold hard cash to watch that. ARE YOU LISTENING, DISNEY?!?
Please omg
We should have our army of Russian Bots make this happen
Rian Johnson said he got tweets from Russia asking him not to kill General Hux.Â
I must say, Iâm proud of my country, Russian part of the fandom and fandom overall. You guys did fantastic job raising awareness among Star Wars crew that we want #Huxlive, thatâs a lot! It also means that our opinion matters on some level, now we need to do the same for Episode IX =D
Also, please note that Rian never said anything about âRussian botsâ, there is no need attacking him for what he did not say. It was actually a crappy article on filmschoolrejects.com that misquoted Rian Johnson and blatantly called us âbotsâ which is extremely rude (and hilarious) to all Russian and worldwide fans who truly love ginger General and want to see more of him. So, guys, just know that your love for Admiral Hux is noticed, make arts, post tweets, express your love using hashtags like #Huxlive and maybe weâll receive more screentime with him in IX or even see him surviving next episode. #SaveHux
I havenât watched âThe Director And The Jediâ, the documentary about making TLJ that these ârussian botâ stories are coming from, because the TLJ digital release doesnât come out until April 9 where I live.
So I thought Iâd ask on twitter if anyone had, and if they could give context â ie did Rian mention bots at all? did he mention them as a joke? or did he say it for serious?
Because, looking at the article that was going around, the only direct quote from Rian Johnson was, âItâs amazing, thereâs a coordinated effort by these Russian accounts. Hundreds of them,â and I kind of thought, if he did make some claim about Russian bots, wouldnât you use THAT as your quote?
Someone who had seen it got back to me and said RJ had been talking about just a campaign on Twitter (and the context was of it being fans, from Russia) and then made a joke about bots, lol. (I blacked out their username because I didnât bother getting their permission to screenshot)
(disclaimer: like I say, I havenât seen it and Iâm going off one personâs impression, but theyâre, like, not a fool.)
The io9 article actually rips off (sorry, sources from, because they at least left a back link, thatâs how this churnalism works, people have to produce a certain number of articles a day, they canât all be original) an article on Film School Rejects, and thatâs where the really stupid ârussian bots? targeting tlj? for general hux? that sounds legit! yes for real! it must be, uuuh, because they love authoritarianismâ angle came from, which the io9 writer cited as âsome sayâ or whatever.
the best part is either that, or the fact that the io9 writer, wishing to contribute something to the story, sourced and embedded a tweet from the #huxlive hashtag that not only included some Kylux art, but actually mentioned the ship.
and so thatâs how come the statement âRian Johnson believes that Russian bots targeted the production of TLJ to promote one of the villains as good totalitarian repâ doesnât quite stand up, whereas the statement âclickbait headlines and context collapse are a pain in the arseâ does.
âreblog if youâre a russian huxbotâ is still a plenty good meme though
A coordinated effort, which included hashtags like #HuxLive, urged Lucasfilm and Disney to keep Hux alive through all three films. Johnson didnât really know why Russian bots were so eager for General Hux to survive, though some speculate itâs because of how they idolize authoritarian regimes.
