Pygmalion

A painting on the theme of loneliness, inspired by the Greek myth of Pygmalion:

  Pygmalion,
a sculptor, makes an ivory statue representing his ideal
and then falls in love with his own creation, which he names Galatea;
the goddess Venus brings the statue to life in answer to his prayer.

In secret, Armitage Hux spends many nights working on a life-like android, collecting parts and perfecting the algorithms which would bring his soulmate into being.

The story behinds this drawing: Kylo and Hux are constantly clashing and Kylo feels that the general does not respect him as a leader. Deep down, this is one of the strongest insecurities weighing upon him – that he his unworthy of his role and that others can see through to his weakness. One day Kylo decides to use the force to go into Armitage’s mind while he is asleep, partially motivated by revenge but also out of a curiosity for the other’s inner life which the general hides behind his
affectless demeanour. These experiments grow more and more bold and eventually he is even able to control Hux in the night as a somnambulist or sleepwalker under a kind of hypnosis. It pleases him to see Hux walk, kneel, do anything Ren wishes as if he were a puppet. Kylo also instills disturbing thoughts in him, the source of which Armitage cannot trace when he is awake, driving the general to near hysteria as Kylo works upon the other man’s greatest fears and long-buried painful memories. As he watches the general’s gradual decline, Kylo’s anger and hatred towards begin to subside into guilt and he begins to feel a romantic connectedness with him after spending so much time in his mind and understanding him as none ever had.

Sorry, this is a somewhat dark story (probably influenced by watching Hannibal)

A somewhat surreal painting of Kylo and Armitage in bed. I imagine this takes place sometime after Hux rescues Ren, while he is still recovering from his injuries. Hux works late often and occasionally visits Kylo in the sickbay to give him status reports by the orders of Snoke. Kylo, in a delirious state, begins to feel a greater attachment to Armitage and even wishes to confide in him, although afraid of how the other would respond. After much resistance, Ren manages to persuade Hux to sleep beside him as a way of comfort. While finding this strange, Armitage too has long suppressed desires for companionship and a close attachment with another human being, even to be held, never thinking that such a person might be Ren. They talk late into the night. The stage of innocence for their relationship.
